Top Ten Tuesday | Series I Want To Start

Hosted by The Broke & The Bookish

This week is all about series' of books that I really want to start!

1. Game of Thrones
I absolutely adore the TV show (even met some of the cast at Comic Con!) and I actually own the first 3 books in the series but honestly, i'm sort of intimidated. The TV show is so complex and the books, I assume, are more so and are SO HUGE. I'll start these in summer when I know I have the time to dedicate myself to them.

2.The Maze Runner
I bought the whole series a few months ago and still haven't started them! I seem to have no problem reading stand-alones wherever, and whenever I can but i'm finding it difficult to commit to series!

3. Beautiful Creatures
I saw the film advertised and it looked awesome, but I can't bring myself to watch without reading and so this one is definitely on my to-start list.

4. Uglies
Again, i've had these books for what feels like forever now and the whole premise sounds incredible. Heard a lot of great things and these books are slighter higher up on my to-read list.

5. Lord of the Rings
I might be the only person left on the planet who knows next to nothing about LOTR. Films or books! I was given the trilogy over 10 years ago as a present and since then they've just sat on my bookshelf. I picked up a secondhand copy of The Hobbit not too long ago as I wanted to read it before the film came out but I never did. Soon...

6. Chaos Walking
My flatmate first spotted these as she exclaimed 'Ooh I like the cover!' and I laughed at her because the cover is so..uninteresting. We call them 'the books with the red splodge' now. But we bought them and have been meaning to read them for so long and so hopefully, their time will come soon!

7. Vampire Academy
Are they even good? I haven't heard a thing about them but I have them for my kindle and yeah..not even sure why but I really want to read them!

8. Lunar Chronicals
Heard mixed reviews about these to be honest but they sound wonderful to me! In fact I may start looking them up very soon.. They seem like quick and easy reads.

9. Mortal Instruments
ASDFG How have I not read these already?!

10. 13 Little Blue Envelopes
Maureen Johnson is amazing. That's all.

Lol the cover of Chaos Walking got me too :) Game of Thrones is excellent. I've got as far as book three, they are a bit overwhelming at times!

There are so many good series on this list! The Lord of the Rings is my favorite book! I started with The Hobbit and I supposed I wasn't incredibly amazed (though I've grown to love it more), but it's definitely worth nothing that LotR has a completely different tone.

I didn't like A Game of Thrones at all, so frankly I'm confused by the comparisons to the Lord of the Rings.

Uglies is also a fantastic series, definitely one of the best YA dystopians, and it came before The Hunger Games!

Finally someone else who hasn't read the Mortal Instruments! You've got a great list here - many I want to read too. (But forgot about when list making time came around. LOL)
Happy Reading

Oh man, you are in such a treat with LOTR. It's a hefty book, and the pacing is slower (different era, I guess), but WOW can that man write a gorgeous sentence.

Give her 4 days and she will have read LOTR and the Hobbit haha.

I want to read Beautiful Creatures before watching the film to I have the first book mum has just finished reading it.

I also want to read the Lunar Chronicles and I own Cinders and Scarlet if you want to borrow them because you are likely to read them before and faster than me seeing as I am only on book 3 of Fallen Star and I have my next 4 books planned after finishing the series lol xxx
